The OFFSET Workshop
The OFFSET Workshop:
Offsets For Future Stewardship and Education Together
About the Workshop
A forest offset is a voluntary greenhouse gas reduction undertaken by forest landowners across the U.S., either through forest conservation, reforestation, or improved forest management. Verified forest offsets can be sold in emerging markets, like that in California.
Engaging private forest owners in offset projects can promote forest stewardship and retention in the Southeastern United States, enhance the recreational and intergenerational value of forestland in the region, and provide additional income. Although there is an abundance of forest area in the Southeastern United States, forest owners have had little engagement with offset compliance markets to date.
The OFFSET workshop will offer a one-day, no-registration-fee open dialogue between a multitude of stakeholders to understand the challenges and opportunities to participation in compliance and voluntary carbon markets in the Southeastern United States.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Who Should Attend?
Carbon offset project professionals, forest industry professionals, participating and interested project owners, land trusts, investors, and anyone interested in learning more about the role of the carbon offset markets in the Southeastern United States.
CFE credits can be earned at The OFFSET Workshop!
