Dr. Tatyana Ruseva

Dr. Tatyana Rusevais an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government & Justice Studies and a faculty research member of RIEEE’s carbon offset cluster. Her work has examined policy drivers of land use and forest management; the role of social networks in private land conservation; land stewardship in rural Appalachia, and public-private collaborations for sustainable forest management.
Dr. Eric Marland

Dr. Eric Marland is professor and chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Appalachian State University, and has worked on issues related to carbon accounting and uncertainty for 15 years. He is the lead author of “Understanding and Analysis: The California Air Resources Board Forest Offset Protocol”, a book summarizing research produced by RIEEE’s carbon cluster.
Dr. Gregg Marland

Dr. Gregg Marland is a Research Professor in the Research Institute for Environment, Energy, and Economics. Prior to that, he was a Distinguished Research and Development Staff Member at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has been involved in forest carbon accounting and analysis for 40 years.
Jason Hoyle

Jason Hoyle is a research analyst for the Appalachian Energy Center, one of the centers under the umbrella of the Research Institute for Environment, Energy, and Economics. Jason has worked in the areas of economic development, project finance and development, and environmental asset markets with a specific focus on North Carolina.
Dr. Tammy Kowalczyk

Dr. Tammy Kowalczyk is a Professor of Accounting at Appalachian State University. She teaches predominantly in the area of Sustainability Accounting and Reporting. Her research interests have largely been in the area of judgment and decision-making in accounting environments, but current research is primarily focused on sustainability accounting and the measurement of impacts from sustainable business practices, including those associated with mitigating climate change risk.
